Great thing from Völkel: Combination taps as bits, or here as a whole combination bit set *HSS-G 3-10*, 6-piece, metric or imperial. With these tools you can produce core hole and pass-through threads in one operation and without changing tools, because a twist drill part is integrated in front of the threaded part. Simple solution for strong results.
These combination taps are suitable for universal use in materials of medium strength: unalloyed and alloyed steel up to 600 N/mm², malleable cast iron, nodular cast iron, copper, brass, aluminium, aluminium-magnesium and zinc alloys, red brass, electron, zinc die-cast. However, only through-threads up to a maximum thread depth of 2 x diameter can be produced. These *HSS-G* bits are unsuitable for stainless, high-strength and hardened steels.
Good to know: It makes sense to use them on machine equipment with selectable speeds for drilling and thread cutting. You must then adjust the feed rate in the respective operations (drilling or tapping). Tapping chucks with pressure compensation cannot be used.
