How ingenious is that? Shrink tubing. Probably the simplest and most practical way to repair damaged insulation or to connect two cable ends. It's quick, lasts forever and, when used properly, prevents leakage currents or short circuits. This 127-piece set from Craft-Mayer is for you. There is bound to be the right heat-shrink tubing for every cable on your bike.
This is how to connect, for example: strip the cable ends bare, put the heat-shrink tubing over one end, solder both ends, slide the heat-shrink tubing over the resulting connection, hold a lighter or hair dryer underneath (be careful not to burn the material!). The heat-shrink tubing contracts, it ‘shrinks’. Done! The cable ends are perfectly, flexibly and watertightly connected.
